Time Management Skills: Are You Too Efficient?

Chances are that if you are a personally developed person (PDP) then you have studied time management skills and are TOO efficient for your own well being.
  • Workaholics, people who don’t enjoy time off, people who don’t enjoy vacation, have become focused on always DOING something.
Their time management skills are TOO good. Their efficiency is through the roof; they might read books while brushing their teeth etc. But not books for entertainment, oh no, that would be a waste of time. They read books that will improve their lifestyle and themselves.

However, personally developed people with superb time management skills lack the ability to be free, to have fun, and they lack the ability to do nothing!

Time Management Skills BalanceTime Management Skills, Having Some Downtime

There is a balance to time management skills. Too little and you are lethargic, too much and you are a workaholic.

Wanting productivity all the time or an unhealthy need for overachievement can cause you to attempt too much.

People with time management skills know how to handle large amounts of work, however, if believe yourself to be superman, then you will become overburdened and not allow yourself any downtime.

Time Management Skills and Allowing Time for Downtime

  • Downtime is important!

With a life focused on time management, downtime can often be overlooked.

I feel that contentment and fulfillment come from within you, not from outward achievements successfully complete with time management skills.

Downtime is important! Spend time with your friends and your loved ones. The relationships you have in life are among the most important aspects of life.

Without time and dedications to relationships, you may find yourself among the most successful people, but you’ll also be alone. Cherish the people around you. Spend time to love them and show your love for them by being with them.

Frustration can result from an unproductive day for the person bent on time management skills. Next time you have a day where things didn’t go as planned, rather than stressing out about all the things that have to be done tomorrow, take some time to relax and just be content in the present moment.

Overly Productive with Time Management Skills?

Also realize that your productivity will be meaningless in the end because you are unable to take anything with you when you DIE.

Some might say, “I’m overly productive in order to provide for my children’s future.”

Believe me when I say to you, those children would rather spend that time WITH YOU.

Let go, and be free of over productivity, be free of overly burdening yourself with tasks, be free and spend time with those around you. I would recommend that you use your time management skills in order to spend more time with your loved ones.
